Majorian was a Western Roman Emperor from 457 to 461, known for his military campaigns against the Empire's enemies and his attempts to restore the Western Roman Empire. He was a prominent commander who deposed Avitus and campaigned against the Vandals, Visigoths, and Burgundians. Despite his efforts, he was murdered in 461, and his successors were puppets of barbarian generals or the Eastern Roman court.
