The Baths of Diocletian, constructed between 298 and 306 AD, were the largest imperial baths in ancient Rome, capable of hosting up to 3,000 bathers. After falling into disuse, parts of the complex were transformed by Michelangelo into the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri and now house sections of the National Roman Museum.
